Our teachers are Mr Powell and Miss Clegg, and our teaching assistant is Mrs Prideaux. If you have any problems or questions, do not hesitate to talk to one of us at the door in the morning or afternoon.

What Sycamore are learning...
Hamlet
On Tuesday 10th March at 14.30, Sycamore will perform at the New Vic Theatre.
Ticketing information was sent out by Mrs Dutton on Monday 2nd February. Tickets are to be purchased through the New Vic Theatre (and not the school).
We will be doing a performance based on Hamlet with other schools in the Societas Trust.
SCRIPT
Our script is now being written by children in our writing and drama lessons. I will upload it as we go.
The final script will be on here over half-term. Half-term homework will be to learn these lines. We have a visitor in on Wednesday 25th February, and she will work with the children and myself on improving the script and performance, so it would be great if all the children knew their lines confidently at this point.
SPEECH
ALL the children must know this speech by Hamlet.
SONG
ALL children must know the words to this song.
4 children will be selected to sing the song with children from other schools. It will be sung in the round (meaning the 'A' children will start the song as usual, but 'B' children will sing the first line when the 'A' children start line 2).

PE
Sycamore need to wear their PE uniforms to school on Mondays and Thursdays.
However, sometimes, Sycamore will have a double PE lesson on Thursdays (and not on Monday). A message will be send via text when this occurs.
Homework
At the start of each week, Sycamore children are given a sheet containing all the homework for the week. It contains Daily Calculations (including TT Rockstars), spellings and expectations for daily reading (3 times a week for 20 minutes and signed by an adult). Each child has the login information for TT Rockstars in the front of their Daily Calculation book.
