Look what we've been up to...

As we got to the forest school area, we were hunting for bugs, searching for sticks and we also practiced our balancing and teamworking skills by building a bridge, carefully walking along it and then jumping off it!

Our first week back has been another busy one. We’ve been learning about Owls this week but we’ve also discussed Bonfire night and made our own firework pictures with some magic paper, we’ve remembered the fallen as we’ve commemorated Remembrance Day, we’ve squiggled, played outside and so much more. We really do love school!

It’s only Wednesday but we’re having a very busy week already! We’re learning all about pumpkins this week and all things halloweeny! We have explored pumpkins 🎃, looking at the different colours, shapes and sizes and made some predictions about what we thought they would smell like, look like and feel like once we cut them open. We made comparisons about what we saw and had discussions about what we found. We’ve made pumpkin soup, ice cream and all manner of weird and wonderful things in our mud kitchen with our pumpkins and we’re saving some seeds to plant too. This morning we spotted some spider webs 🕸 on the fence as we came into the classroom. This made us think about the spider 🕷 that we saw yesterday and spend the afternoon looking after! As we went outside, we realised that there were LOADS of beautiful cobwebs so we decided to catch some on black paper, the patterns they made were amazing!

Another fun filled week for Birch Class this week catching bubbles on the field, forming a band 🎸🥁, understanding what makes ‘Me’ special 🤩, learning about the life cycle of a ladybird 🐞and going on a hunt for them. We’ve represented and made our own arrangements of number 4, squiggled and loved reading some Julia Donaldson stories including Room on the Broom in Literacy. Everyday is so much fun and packed with new and exciting things to do!

Birch and Elm classes have had a super time down at the woods this morning. We had lots of fun exploring using our senses and saw lots of exciting things. We saw a cow and a horse, some worms, ladybirds, birds singing in the sky, aeroplanes and a helicopter. We looked at the view and the buildings in the distance, fields, trees and mushrooms. Ask us about it tonight, we’ve got so much to tell you!!

The best part of our whole morning was getting to jump in the muddy puddles on the way to the woods, and on the way back!

We each collected a stick and this afternoon we are going to make them into something amazing, keep your eyes peeled!

Don't forget to check Facebook as lots of what we do is on there too.
